The city of McGregor, TX, spans two counties — McLennan and Coryell — southwest of Waco along US 84 at State Highway 317. Partially within the Waco metropolitan area, McGregor houses roughly 5,000 people across more than 21 square miles of land.

The western section of town in Coryell County surrounds McGregor Industrial Park, once the crossing of two railroads in the late 19th century. The site grew into a munitions plant that operated during World War II, which has since been used by a number of companies to make rockets. SpaceX presently has a rocket engine development and test facility here. Magnolia House is another noteworthy spot in McGregor, a historic Victorian property that now operates as a bed and breakfast.
